The Jr. Board was created as a wonderful way to keep the older children in BYSA involved in the program. Many of these kids have been playing soccer their entire lives and really appreciate what BYSA has done for them and now want the opportunity to give back. The Jr. board brought back the TOPS program to Bridgewater. They also stepped up and became coaches of the younger teams both in Spring Instructional and the Fall Rec. leagues.
We would love to continue the work already begun. We are looking to expand with field work, recycling and helping with the Bridgewater Challenge Cup. Also, and most importantly BYSA would love to hear any ideas these bright ambitious children may have to help better the organization with fund raising efforts or current soccer events.
Qualifications
Any Bridgewater student in grades 9 through 12 (or older if currently on the Junior Board) may apply.
Expectations
To assist the BYSA Board of Directors with:
- Spring Instructional and Fall Recreational programs, either as coaches or assistant coaches.
- Assistance in the snack shack as needed.
- TOPS program, as coaches and mentors.
- Field Maintenance, including helping on field days and general field clean up.
- Challenge Cup preparation and volunteer positions before, during and after the event. (Note that this may include an extra meeting that month).
Meetings
There will be one Jr. Board meeting per month with the date and time to be determined and will meet either in person or virtually. There may be more (or less) depending on upcoming events. During these meetings we will discuss what is going on with BYSA at that time, what we can do to assist, and any ideas we can come up with to better the organization with fund raising efforts or current soccer events. This is a very important part of being on the Board.
