Welcome to Bridgewater Youth Soccer Association,

As we begin a new year, I wanted to take a moment to highlight who we are what we offer the members of Bridgewater Youth Soccer….

Here is small sample of Bridgewater Youth Soccer in Action…
Our Goals:  To provide the youth of Bridgewater the opportunity to participate in recreational and competitive soccer leagues by teaching and demonstrating soccer skills, sportsmanship, honesty, respect, and fair play. To provide a safe environment where our youth not only can excel in their soccer skills but also learn the importance of physical fitness in their lives. To provide an atmosphere where the player’s emotional well-being will be nurtured as they learn the importance of teamwork, determination, persistence, and hard work. All members will work towards instilling in our youth the enjoyment and fun aspects of the game of soccer.

Who Are We:
The Bridgewater Youth Soccer Association (BYSA) exists to promote and enhance the game of soccer for the youth of Bridgewater and to encourage the healthy development of those players. It does so by offering and sponsoring a variety of programs designed to improve the quality of players, coaches and administrators. We provide access to all and encourage the participation at levels of soccer:

    • The recreational player who is out to enjoy the game and “just have fun”
    • The travel team player who enjoys the spirit of competition
    • The premier player who is looking to play at the highest levels

To accomplish its mission, Bridgewater Youth Soccer relies heavily upon a Board of Directors, a group of 15 dedicated volunteers. Many of these Board members have specific program responsibilities in addition to their general Board duties. Supporting the Board in its efforts is an infinite number of coaches and volunteers.

What Do We Do:
Bridgewater Youth Soccer has developed some long-range objectives in an effort to continue to support the programs we offer today, these offerings include the following:

Fall Recreational
The BYSA fall soccer program involves boys and girls in 5 age groups (Under 6 , Under 8 , Under 10, Under 12, and Under 15) in a recreational soccer program. The main objective of the program is for children to have fun and competition playing soccer with their friends in an organized program, while also learning soccer skills, teamwork, etc.

Tops
The Outreach Program for Soccer –is designed to bring the opportunity of learning and playing soccer to any boy or girl with a mental or physical disability.

CoEd
This program continues to evolve; it’s primarily a means to offer a recreational opportunity to those wishing to continue to play soccer, it’s primarily made of those children that have graduated from our fall recreational program. The focus here is friendship and fun and the opportunity to continue to play organized soccer.

Spring Travel
BYSA competes in the South Shore Soccer League in 5 different age groups for both girls and boys, We compete at the highest levels with these age groups, all of our first teams participate in Division I and the remaining teams placed in Division II. Annually, we are sending SSSL champions on to compete at the state level where they compete in the tournament known as MTOC (Mass Tournamnet of Champions). We have had tremendous success over the years.

Spring Instructional

The BYSA spring instructional soccer program involves boys and girls under the age of 12. The main objective of the program is for children to have fun, develop their skills while participating in organized training sessions.

Summer
The BYSA summer soccer program involves boys and girls under the age of 6. The main objective of the program is to introduce the game of soccer to the children of Bridgewater. The goal for this program is to have fun playing soccer with their new friends in an organized program, while also learning some basic soccer skills, teamwork.

BCC
The 2008 Bridgewater Challenge Cup tournament will be celebrating its 17th year. The goal is to provide a competitive, fun and family friendly soccer fest atmosphere for girls and boys representing 6 six different age groups. We offer both a Division I and a Division II placement opportunity. This tournament would not have survived 17 years, if it were not for the tremendous amount of volunteers and their efforts year after year.

SSSL Playoffs
We have been hosting the SSSL playoffs at our facility for years, which is a great source of pride for the organization, we enjoy some of the best facilities not only within SSL league but within in any self sufficient youth soccer organization in Massachusetts.

Coaching Clinics
BYSA conducts numerous coaching clinics at no cost and provides assistance with state licensing, we believe that providing the access to these resources is evident in the number of quality coaches involved in our programs.

Player Development
BYSA invests heavily in Player Development; we have enlisted the services of professional organizations to assist us in this effort. We take a great deal pride in our player development and we believe it is evident numerous teams and the success they enjoy.

Community Involvement
We are a Platinum Sponsor of the Friends of BR Athletics. We host a BYSA Family night and all proceeds are donated to charity. We encouraged our membership to get involved in the Friday Night lights campaign for the Benefit of Bridgewater Youth Football.  Train adults in the community to serve as coaches, referees and administrators.

Thank you for your continued support of Bridgewater Youth Soccer Association,
Paul Carroll
